The short answer
Creative analytics tools (Segwise, Motion, Superads, Atria, Canva Grow) tag the ads in your own account and report which elements perform. Most price by monthly ad spend: from $125 (Superads) to $750 (Motion) at entry. The feature that matters most is cross-tab reporting: on our board, problem/benefit openers reach the top tier 7% of the time as video and 18% as static images, a difference a single-tag report averages away.
The tools side by side
Creative analytics tools read your own ad accounts. That makes them different from ad spy tools, which read public libraries. All figures below come from each vendor's site, checked October 2026.
| Tool | Networks | Pricing model | Entry price | Seats | AI and agents |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Segwise | 15+ networks plus MMPs (AppsFlyer, Adjust, Singular, Kochava) | By monthly ad spend and AI tokens | Growth $499/month up to $250k spend | Unlimited | AI tagging, Creative Strategy Agent, generation, fatigue tracking |
| Motion | Meta, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn | By monthly ad spend | Starter $750/month up to $50k spend | Unlimited | AI tags, MCP access, reports in Slack; GA4 and Northbeam on Pro |
| Superads | Meta, Google, TikTok, LinkedIn | By monthly ad spend | $125/month ($1,500 billed yearly) up to $100k | See their pricing page | AI tagging and reporting, 14-day trial |
| Atria | Your ad accounts (5 on Core) | By plan, with spend caps | Core $129/month billed annually, up to $500k analyzed | 5 | AI tags, custom metrics on Business, MCP, competitor research |
| Canva Grow | Meta and TikTok, publishing and analytics | Usage tiers by Canva plan | See Canva's plans | Canva plan | Built by the former MagicBrief team |
| Foreplay Lens | Meta and TikTok | Bundled with Foreplay Workflow | $175/month, 1 brand | 5 | Part of a swipe file and briefs suite |
How to read the table
Segwise is the widest on networks and leans toward mobile apps and games, with MMP integrations and playable ad generation. Every feature is on every plan. Motion is the DTC creative team's tool, with visual reports, attribution integrations and work pushed to Slack. Superads is the low-cost entry for social and search creative reporting. Atria combines analytics with competitor research and AI generation. Canva Grow is the successor to MagicBrief inside Canva; see MagicBrief alternatives. For a Motion-specific comparison, see Motion alternatives.
Why cross-tabs matter more than tags
Every tool on this list tags creatives. The difference shows when you ask a two-part question: which hook works for which format or for which audience. A report that ranks one tag at a time averages the answer away.
We can show the effect on our own board, 2,443 Meta ads with $50k or more in estimated spend, using the share that reach our top tier (top 10% by winner score; about 10% across the board).
| Hook pattern | As video | As static image |
|---|---|---|
| Problem/benefit opener | 7% (595 ads) | 18% (119 ads) |
| Question opener | 7% (315) | 10% (51) |
| First-person story | 10% (283) | 11% (155) |
| Specific number opener | 13% (343) | 13% (68) |
| Offer-first opener | 8% (191) | 9% (64) |
Read alone, "problem/benefit opener" looks below average (9%). Split by format, it is one of the weakest video openers and one of the strongest image openers. A team that only sees the single-tag number might drop a pattern that is working well in its statics.
Awareness changes the picture the same way:
| Hook pattern | Unaware | Problem-aware | Solution-aware |
|---|---|---|---|
| Specific number opener | 10% (132) | 14% (43) | 18% (118) |
| First-person story | 8% (226) | 13% (93) | 7% (54) |
| Question opener | 9% (119) | 6% (122) | 6% (79) |
First-person stories do best with problem-aware audiences and worst with solution-aware ones. Specific-number openers do best with solution-aware audiences. Cells with fewer than 50 ads are small samples, so treat them as leads. For the definitions behind these tags, see awareness levels in ads.

What to test during a trial
Most of these tools offer a trial (Segwise 7 days, Superads 14). Use it to answer these questions with your own account, not a demo account:
- Can I edit the taxonomy? AI tags are a start. You need to rename, merge and add tags that match how your team briefs. See AI ad tagging.
- Can I cross-tab two tags? Hook by format, hook by awareness, talent by placement. If the answer needs an export to a spreadsheet, the tool will not get used.
- Does it handle iterations? Variants of one concept should roll up, or your "winning hook" is just one ad counted five times. Our post on ad concept vs variation covers why.
- How does it define a winner? ROAS, CPA, spend share, hit rate? Make sure it matches your creative KPIs.
- What does it cost at next year's spend? Most tools here price by monthly ad spend, so growth moves you up a tier automatically.
Before you buy: the spreadsheet version
If your account runs fewer than 30 new creatives a month, try the manual version for four weeks first. It tells you which questions you actually ask.
- Export ad-level results from Ads Manager each week: ad name, spend, purchases or leads, CPA, hook rate.
- Add tag columns by hand. Hook pattern, format (video or image), awareness, talent, proof level. Five columns are enough.
- Build two pivot tables. Hook pattern by format, and hook pattern by awareness, exactly like the tables above, using CPA or spend share instead of our top-tier rate.
- Note the questions the pivot can't answer. Frame-level analysis, fatigue curves, cross-network views. Those are what you pay a tool for.
If after a month the sheet takes more than an hour a week, or you are buying on three or more networks, a tool from the table will pay for itself. If not, the sheet is doing the job.
Where Ad Radar fits
Ad Radar is not a creative analytics tool: it doesn't connect to your ad account. It tags competitor Meta ads on the same kind of dimensions (hook pattern, hook mechanism, angle, awareness, proof, format, landing page and more), so you can hold your account's cross-tabs up against what is scaling in the market. That is useful for one question your own data can't answer: which combinations you have never tried. The features page shows the tags.
Figures marked as estimated spend come from Ad Radar's model of engagement on public Meta Ad Library ads. They are estimates, labeled as such, and are best used to rank ads against each other.
